The Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) Puducherry campus proudly inaugurated its Vigilance Awareness Week, a vital initiative to promote integrity and raise awareness about the significance of vigilance in combating corruption. As a part of this event, students took an inspiring pledge in four languages—Tamil, English, Malayalam, and Telugu—reflecting the diverse and inclusive nature of the campus.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. R. Mohan Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance and Anti-Corruption), Puducherry Police, who was invited as the chief guest. In his engaging speech, Mr. Mohan Kumar highlighted the critical role that vigilance plays in ensuring transparency and accountability within public and private institutions. He encouraged students to be vigilant in their daily lives, as corruption can only be rooted out through proactive efforts by every citizen. Adding further value to the occasion were key officials from the Puducherry Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department, including Inspector of Police B. Danssegrane, Inspector of Police S. Ramu, and Inspector of Police S. Vengadachalapathy. Each of these officers shared their experiences on the frontline of combating corruption, providing students with real-world insights into how vigilance efforts work in practice.
The students of RRU Puducherry actively participated in the event, showing great enthusiasm in learning about the importance of vigilance and anti-corruption measures. The multilingual pledge symbolized unity in their commitment to uphold ethical values and integrity, not just in words but in action. Through interactive sessions and discussions, students were educated on the importance of vigilance, the consequences of corruption, and the steps that can be taken to prevent it. This initiative successfully underscored the message that vigilance begins with individual action and collective effort, laying the foundation for a future where integrity and accountability prevail in all aspects of life.
