State Level Youth Festival: collaboration with the Puducherry NSS Cell and Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) at RRU Puducherry.

The Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, proudly hosted the State Level Youth Festival – 2026 on December 7, 2025, organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Puducherry, in collaboration with the Puducherry NSS Cell and Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat). Under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue initiative, the event brought together energetic youth aged 15–29 years from Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam, celebrating culture, creativity, and leadership.

The State Level Youth Festival – 2026 at RRU Puducherry emerged as a vibrant celebration of unity, diversity, and youth empowerment. With 140 participants from all four regions, the festival served as a powerful platform for cultural expression, leadership development, and national integration.

The major attraction of the festival was the Folk Dance and Folk Song competitions, where each region showcased its unique cultural identity.

  • Karaikal Team: Presented a vibrant fusion of devotional and folk traditions.
  • Mahe Participants: Performed colourful Telugu-style routines with lively choreography.
  • Yanam Participants: Showcased Kerala-style folk dance with rhythmic cultural expressions.
  • Pondicherry Teams: Delivered classical-folk integrated performances reflecting rich Tamil heritage.

Many teams used traditional props, such as fire pots, to add grandeur and authenticity. Held in the RRU Auditorium, teams presented traditional songs representing their regional roots. Performances were judged on melody, authenticity, presentation, and cultural relevance.

Participants displayed their talent through

  • Declamation
  • Poetry Writing
  • Painting

Themes revolved around nationalism, development, leadership, and culture. Students delivered powerful speeches and created meaningful art that echoed the spirit of Viksit Bharat. NSS volunteers from RRU played a crucial role in the smooth execution of the festival by managing:

  • Registration and participant verification
  • Stage and backstage operations
  • Guest hospitality
  • Venue logistics
  • Cultural procession & crowd management
  • Technical support for auditorium events
