Awareness lecture at the Department of Education, Puducherry, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS)

Mrs. P. Suriya, TCRO (IT), Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, delivered an insightful awareness lecture on Cybercrimes and Preventive Measures. It was successfully conducted on 10 December 2025 at the Department of Education, Puducherry, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS). The programme aimed to enhance awareness and preparedness among educators to address emerging digital threats and promote safe online practices among students.

Session I: Awareness on Cybercrimes and Preventive Measures

The programme witnessed active participation from NSS Programme Officers representing various schools and colleges across Puducherry. Their enthusiastic engagement reflected the growing need for cyber awareness in educational institutions.

The first session focused on creating awareness about the nature of cybercrimes, common online threats, and preventive strategies. The session was highly interactive, with participants raising several questions related to online fraud, cybersecurity practices, data protection, and mitigation techniques. All questions were addressed with practical examples and expert insights, making the session informative, engaging, and impactful.

Session II: Contemporary Forms of Crime

Mr. Diwakar, TCRO (Police Administration), Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, provided an in-depth analysis of contemporary forms of crime using real-time case studies. His session provided valuable insights into evolving crime patterns and their implications in the digital era, enabling participants to better understand the practical challenges in crime prevention and awareness.

The programme successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of emerging cyber threats and strengthened their ability to guide students and communities on safe and responsible digital practices. The sessions collectively contributed to building awareness, critical thinking, and preventive preparedness among educators.

The programme concluded on a positive note, with participants appreciating the relevance and practical orientation of the sessions.
