NCC & NSS Achievers Felicitation Ceremony at Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus

On 20th February 2026, Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus resonated with pride, patriotism, and celebration as the University organized a grand felicitation ceremony to honour its NCC and NSS students who represented the institution and the Union Territory of Puducherry during the 77th Republic Day Celebrations.

                                                           

The programme began with a warm welcome delivered by Mr. Arsh Ganesh, Campus Director I/c to distinguished guests Colonel. Ashish Tiwari-NCC Group Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Imon Samanta, Commander. Abhay Singh-Commanding Officer 1(P) Naval Unit NCC, Puducherry, NCC Officers, faculty members, and students. The gathering stood united in patriotic spirit with the soulful rendering of Vande Mataram, which once ignited the spirit of India’s freedom movement and continues to inspire generations.


Cultural Performances Showcasing Talent and Tradition: The evening moved into a vibrant cultural segment highlighting the artistic excellence of the University’s NSS volunteers. Five students who represented Puducherry in the Republic Day Tableau at New Delhi delivered a captivating dance performance that beautifully reflected the cultural heritage of the region. Their energy, coordination, and expression earned immense appreciation from the audience.

                                                               

                                                                  

 

Spectacular Formation DisplaysOne of the major highlights of the event was the impressive series of formation such as  RRU Formation, Lotus Formation, Chakra Formation, Hanging Formation,  Pyramid Formation, Star Formation displays by the students, demonstrating discipline, unity, balance, and strength — values that define both NCC and NSS.

                                                                        

      

Silambam & Fire Breathing: It was enthralled by a dynamic Silambam performance led by our UG& PG students Balakarthick, Siva, Tamilarasan, Viswa, Aravind and Team. The ancient martial art of Tamil Nadu, demonstrated agility, rhythm, precision, and warrior spirit. The performance highlighted Tamil cultural heritage while showcasing the physical excellence of the participants. Notably, the team had previously represented the University at the NSS National Integration Camp, bringing pride to the institution.

                                                                  

                                                          

Commando Training Demonstration: The event also featured an intense Commando Training demonstration by RRU students. The display highlighted endurance, agility, tactical preparedness, and combat readiness. The demonstrations included:

  • Frog jumps and sitting posture drills
  • Jumping RLAA exercises
  • Front rolls for agility and recovery
  • Abdominal walk and crocodile walk for core strength
  • Firearm lift simulations
  • Maharaja pose for stability and precision
  • Backward walk drills
  • Self-defence techniques including wrist escapes and close-quarter combat response.  

                                                                                                                                                                                                  

                                                       
The synchronized execution of these drills reflected discipline, coordination, and the professional training imparted at the University. The segment concluded with an enthusiastic “Jai Hind,” filling the RRU with patriotic fervor. The following was highlighted in the event:

  • 20 days of rigorous preparation undertaken by the students
  • Participation of five NSS volunteers in the Republic Day Tableau at New Delhi
  • Achievement of thirty NCC cadets whose contingent secured the Best Contingent Award at the State Republic Day Parade. This remarkable accomplishment brought immense pride to the institution.

                                                       

                                                       

Felicitation of Chief Guest and Address: The dignitaries were felicitated as a token of gratitude. The Chief Guest delivered an inspiring address, motivating students to continue their journey of service, discipline, and leadership. Certificates and recognitions were presented to the deserving NSS volunteers and NCC cadets for their outstanding achievements. The ceremony celebrated their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to national service.

                                                     

                                         

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Anthem. A group photo session was organized with dignitaries, awardees, and faculty members, marking the successful culmination of the event. The felicitation ceremony stood as a testament to the unwavering spirit, discipline, and patriotism of the students of Rashtriya Raksha University. Their achievements at the Republic Day celebrations continue to inspire excellence and national pride within the academic community.
