RRU NCC Cadets Shine at the 80th Independence Day Parade in Puducherry

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit in Puducherry on 15 August 2026. The National Flag was hoisted by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Puducherry, Shri N. Ramaswamy, in the presence of Hon’ble Ministers and MLAs, senior officers, Directors of various Government Departments, and other dignitaries. The celebration featured a variety of programmes, including cultural performances, school students’ dance programmes, a cultural band performance, and a grand parade involving NCC, NSS, Police, schools, and other participating organisations.

Representing Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, our NCC Cadets actively participated in the Independence Day Parade. A total of 22 RRU cadets took part in the event, contributing to the grandeur and success of the celebration. The 1(P) Naval Unit NCC Senior Wing delivered an excellent performance and was honoured with the prestigious Best Contingent Award – Senior Wing (SW). The Best Contingent Award – Senior Division (SD) was secured by the 1(P) Independent Army Unit NCC.

The achievement of the 1(P) Naval Unit Senior Wing was a great source of pride for the RRU Puducherry Campus. The recognition reflected the cadets’ discipline, dedication, teamwork, hard work, and commitment demonstrated throughout the parade training and the event. The participation of the RRU NCC cadets in this prestigious Independence Day celebration provided them with an opportunity to demonstrate discipline, leadership, team spirit, and commitment to the nation. Their outstanding performance and recognition further highlighted the spirit of service and national responsibility fostered through NCC activities at the University.
