Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Puducherry Campus organised an educational visit to the Police Museum, Chennai, on 03 September 2026. The visit was organised as a curricular and experiential learning activity to provide students with practical exposure to the history, heritage and evolution of policing and law enforcement practices.
A total of 49 students and 7 RRU faculty members explored the museum exhibits and gained an understanding of the development of policing, police equipment, uniforms, operational resources and the traditions associated with law enforcement.
The visit helped students connect their academic learning in security, policing and national security with practical and historical perspectives. It also enhanced their understanding of the importance of discipline, professionalism, public service, leadership and commitment to duty in the field of law enforcement.
The educational visit also strengthened students’ understanding of discipline, professionalism, public service, leadership and commitment to duty in the field of law enforcement. Overall, the visit provided a valuable experiential learning opportunity and enhanced students’ awareness of police heritage and the broader public-safety and security environment.
