77th Republic Day celebration at RRU Puducherry

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, patriotism, and unity at the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) Puducherry Campus on 26th January 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The event was jointly organized by the Pondicherry Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (PIHMCT) and RRU, marking the historic occasion with dignity and national pride.

The programme commenced with a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented to the Chief Guest, Ms. Rita Mitra, Principal of PIHMCT. She then hoisted the National Flag, a moment that symbolized the nation's sovereignty and unity. The gathering paid tribute to the tricolour by singing the National Anthem in unison.

An impressive parade followed, led by the NCC and NSS cadets along with the Bachelor’s students of Criminology from RRU. Their disciplined march reflected commitment, coordination, and respect for the nation.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of patriotism, constitutional values, and the significance of Republic Day in strengthening national integrity. The formal session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Nethaji Subash, Assistant Director, RRU Puducherry Campus.

The celebrations continued with a vibrant cultural segment at the ground. The programme featured an insightful speech on the historical importance of Republic Day, a graceful classical dance performance by PIHMCT students, and an energetic Silambam display by the NSS students of RRU, which captivated and delighted the audience.

The Republic Day celebrations concluded on a joyful note, fostering a deep sense of patriotism, cultural pride, and unity among the students and faculty of both institutions. The event truly reflected the spirit of togetherness and national commitment.
