Students of Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry campus proudly participated in the 39th State Athletics Championship 2025–2026, organized by the Pondicherry Amateur Athletic Association on 9th and 10th May 2026 at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Uppalam, Puducherry. The two-day championship brought together talented athletes from various categories, ranging from Under-12 to Open Category, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship.
The championship served as an excellent platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, improve their athletic abilities, and compete at the state level. Around 250 athletes participated in different track and field events, making the competition highly energetic and competitive.
Representing RRU Puducherry Campus, four students and one faculty member actively participated in the event and delivered remarkable performances in various categories. The championship commenced on 9th May 2026, with athletes competing in their respective events across two days. The event concluded on 10th May 2026 with a prize distribution ceremony recognizing outstanding performers.
The students of RRU achieved notable success in several events.
In the Under-18 category :
- Jeevika secured 3rd Place in Discus Throw and 4th Place in Shot Put
- Monishwaran achieved 3rd Place in Javelin Throw.
In the Women’s Category :
- Swati V secured 1st Place in Javelin Throw and 3rd Place in Discus Throw.
The participation and achievements of the students reflected the university’s commitment to promoting sports, physical fitness, discipline, and holistic development among students. The event not only enhanced the students’ competitive spirit but also provided them with valuable exposure to state-level athletics competitions.
The university congratulates all the participants and winners for bringing pride to the institution through their dedication, perseverance, and outstanding performances.
