A 61-Hour Integrated Training & Internship Programme at RRU Puducherry

Rashtriya Raksha University Puducherry Campus successfully conducted a 61-hour Integrated Training & Internship Programme from 07 July 2026 to 20 July 2026, offering students a unique blend of academic learning, practical exposure, and interdisciplinary training across cybersecurity, criminology, digital forensics, and national security.

A total of 18 students from four higher educational institutions participated in the programme, creating an excellent platform for collaborative learning and knowledge exchange.

Participating Institutions:

  • Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Tiruchirappalli- 13 students
  • Women's Engineering College, Lawspet, Puducherry- 3 students
  • Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology (PKIET), Karaikal- 1 student
  • Puducherry Technological University (PTU)- 1 student

The internship curriculum was carefully designed to bridge the gap between classroom education and professional practice through expert lectures, laboratory sessions, practical demonstrations, case studies, and interactive discussions. The programme covered a broad spectrum of contemporary and multidisciplinary domains, including:
  • Fundamentals of Cyber Security
  • Computer Networks and Communication Protocols
  • Ethical Hacking Methodologies
  • Web Application Security
  • Cyber Criminology/Victimology/Psychology
  • Cyber Law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and the Information Technology Act, 2000
  • Digital Forensics
  • Crime Investigation, Questioned Document Examination, and Evidence Analysis
  • Cyber Warfare and National Security
  • Critical Information Infrastructure Protection
  • Incident Response and Security Operations
  • Corporate Security

A unique highlight of the internship was the "Operation Shield India 2030" Strategic Challenge, introduced by the Campus Director as a real-world problem statement. Students were grouped into teams and tasked with analysing the scenario, identifying national security challenges, and proposing innovative, technology-driven solutions.

During the Valedictory Ceremony, each team presented its recommendations before the faculty and invited guests. The presentations demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and communication, earning high appreciation from the Campus Director and the panel. The activity encouraged participants to think beyond technical concepts and develop strategic perspectives on cyber resilience and national security.

The successful execution of the programme was made possible through the visionary leadership and continuous guidance of the Campus Director, Chief Guest Dr. S Bascaranae, and Dr. Boopesh Gupta, along with the dedicated efforts of the organising committee, faculty members, resource persons, administrative team, and MTS staff. Their collective commitment ensured the seamless planning and delivery of every session, creating a vibrant and engaging learning environment.

The internship concluded with a valedictory ceremony, where certificates were awarded to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. Feedback from students reflected a high level of satisfaction with the quality of training, practical orientation, expert interactions, and hands-on learning experience. Participants appreciated the opportunity to gain exposure to emerging technologies, investigative methodologies, and the multidisciplinary aspects of cybersecurity and national security.

Through initiatives such as this Integrated Training & Internship Programme, Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, continues to strengthen experiential learning, foster academic collaboration, and develop industry-ready professionals equipped with the technical knowledge, investigative skills, ethical values, and strategic thinking required to address the evolving challenges of cyber security, digital forensics, and national security.
