Expert lecture on Cyber security awareness - PGDCSDF

 The Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) Puducherry campus recently organized an expert lecture for Postgraduate Diploma students in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. The session, aimed at raising cyber security awareness, featured Dr. S.Bascarane Superintendent of Police (Cyber/ Wireless / E-Governance/Vigilance & Anti-corruption) cum Web Officer, Puducherry a renowned expert in the field.

In his lecture, Dr. Bascarne shed light on the pressing need for robust cybersecurity practices amidst the rapid digital transformation. He discussed the evolving nature of cybercrime and highlighted various scams and cyber frauds that have been occurring around Puducherry, demonstrating how cybercriminals exploit vulnerabilities in digital systems to target individuals and organizations. Dr. Bascarne’s presentation also covered real-life case studies of cybercrime incidents in the region, providing students with a practical understanding of the challenges law enforcement and cybersecurity professionals face. His expert analysis offered a deeper look into phishing schemes, identity theft, ransomware attacks, and other prevalent cyber threats.

The students actively engaged with Dr. Bascarne, exploring solutions to counter these threats through advanced forensic techniques and preventative cybersecurity measures.
