OSAC Annual General 2024 - Chennai chapters

Chennai, October 25 & 26:  U.S. Consul General Chennai Chris Hodges and Tamil Nadu Minister of Information Technology and Digital Services Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan hosted the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) India Annual General Meeting on October 24 in Chennai to foster cooperation among U.S. Government and U.S. private-sector security professionals across India.

The Chennai chapters hosted the OSAC Annual General 2024. Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry campus, was designated as the academic partner for the Annual General Meet (AGM). Students and faculty from the university participated as volunteers under the OSAC task force.



DAY 1
On 23rd October 2024, a get-together was hosted at The U.S. Consul General for Chennai, Chris Hodges’ residence. Students from the Postgraduate Diploma in Security and Corporate Intelligence Management (PGDSCIM) participated as volunteers in the event and assisted in receiving the delegates. The director of Rastriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus Mr. Arsh G, and Assistant Professor of PGDSCIM, Mr.Sharuhasan Shankar, were among the seventy-five delegates invited to the closed-door meeting.


DAY 2 
The OSAC Annual General Meet 2024 was held on 24th October 2024. 25 Students and 4 Faculties from RRU, Puducherry campus participated as Volunteers by assisting in various committees such as Incident commanders, Registration, Gifts and Gratitude, Baggage counter, Leadership and Special Guest reservations, Food and beverages, Partners and Sponsors, stage, and transport committee under the guidance of the OSAC Task Force. Mr. John Paul Manickam served as the host of the event. The event was inaugurated by The chief Guest Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services of Tamil Nadu along with Mr. Chris Hodge, The U.S. Consult General Chennai and Senior RSO. Scott K. Schonauer, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The session followed OSAC Private Co-chair updates by the respective leaders of the city chapters namely Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. With the completion of the panel discussions, the event moved forward to the awarding session for Security excellence. With the vote of thanks by Mr. John Paul Manickam, the OSAC Annual General Meet (AGM) 2024 came to an end. RRU, Puducherry campus was recognized for its contribution to the OSAC AGM 2024 during the vote of thanks. The acknowledgment not only highlighted the hard work and dedication of the students and faculties but also emphasized RRU, Puducherry campus as the first-ever academic partner.
