Special guest lecture on yoga: Enhancing Mind and Body Wellness

RRU Puducherry Campus hosted a special guest lecture on yoga, offering students an immersive experience in holistic wellness. The session, led by esteemed yoga instructor Karae Durga Prasad and Imagin Maharana, a research scholar in Purana Itihasa from the Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati, was divided into two parts. It combined theoretical and practical elements to deepen students’ understanding of yoga.

In the first session, the instructors introduced the foundational importance of yoga, discussing how this ancient practice benefits mental and physical health. They emphasized yoga's role in fostering mindfulness, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being—especially relevant in today's fast-paced world. The lecture provided insights into the transformative power of yoga for maintaining balance in life, which resonated deeply with the students.

The second session was dedicated to hands-on practice, where Prasad and Maharana guided students through a series of yoga postures and breathing exercises. Students experienced first-hand the calming and rejuvenating effects of yoga, which further reinforced the teachings from the lecture. This practical approach allowed participants to connect with the philosophy of yoga more personally. The guest lecture was well-received, inspiring students to integrate yoga into their daily routines as a tool for mental clarity and physical vitality. The session marked a meaningful step in promoting a culture of wellness and balance at RRU Puducherry.
