Internship at Cyber Crime Police Station

               The RRU Puducherry campus Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics students successfully completed a 15-day internship at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Puducherry from December 4 to December 18, 2024. 

                   The internship began with the students observing and gaining an understanding of the daily operations at the station. Each student was assigned to desk duty, where they reported cases and participated in observation duties. Dr. Bascarane, SP, delivered a lecture on incident response, sharing real-time case studies to provide practical insights. Students also learned about various cyber crime portals, recent trends in cyber crimes, and the processes followed by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). They had the opportunity to interact with the public, assisting with case reports and helping raise awareness about cybercrime. SSP Narachaythanaya conducted an online awareness program to further educate the public on the importance of cybersecurity.

                The Cyber Police team and the PGDCSDF students visited A.R. Rahman School in Puducherry to conduct a cyber literacy program. During the visit, Dr. Bascarane, SP, explained the Mitra application designed for emergency rescue operations. Students were also given the opportunity to engage with real-time case studies and observe server setups, gaining hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity. Additionally, special lectures were organized for students, encouraging them to conduct research in various areas of cybersecurity, further enhancing their learning. The students also visited Achariya College of Arts and Science to conduct another cyber literacy program, spreading awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and educating students on safe online practices.
