Faculty activity highlight: Mr. Nethaji Subash invited as a guest speaker

We are happy to share that our Puducherry campus Assistant Professor (Criminology), Mr. Nethaji Subash, was invited as a guest speaker for the "Training on New Criminal Laws & Prison Welfare," organized by Rashtriya Raksha University, Pasighat Campus, in collaboration with BPRD.

During the event, he delivered a lecture titled "Prison and Justice: Empowering Correctional Staff," attended by prison officials from various North Eastern states. My lecture covered several important topics, including prisoners' rights and correctional staff's responsibilities. It also addressed the critical issue of prison overcrowding and its impact on prison departments. Additionally, the lecture highlighted the significance of speedy trials and the crucial role that prison officials play in facilitating this process. To ensure a practical understanding, the lecture incorporated relevant case laws to shed light on the needs of prisoners, the responsibilities of correctional staff, and the complexities they face.
