We are delighted to share a proud moment for our Cybersecurity and IT faculty, as Mrs. Suriya I. was honored to be invited as the Chief Guest for the launch of the Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking Club at the Government of Puducherry Women’s Engineering College, Lawspet.
The event marked a significant milestone in promoting cybersecurity awareness and inspiring young women to actively engage in the fields of ethical hacking and digital defense. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and empowerment through technology. This was followed by the formal introduction of the club’s student leaders—President, Vice President, and Secretary—who will drive this student-led initiative forward with energy and vision. The official launch of the Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking Club was then announced, signifying the start of an exciting new chapter for student involvement in the realm of cyber defense.
Mrs. Suriya I. led a compelling technical session titled “From Campus to Cyber Guardians,” designed to empower students with both foundational understanding and futuristic insights into the cybersecurity landscape. Key topics covered during the session included the cybersecurity ecosystem at both global and national levels, the role of cyber professionals as digital guardians, the importance of ethical hacking with real-world examples, and a practical roadmap for students interested in pursuing careers in cybersecurity. The session was highly interactive, with over 150 enthusiastic students actively participating. Their curiosity and engagement highlighted a promising future for women in cybersecurity. The event concluded on an inspiring note with a Cyber Pledge, where students committed themselves to practicing cyber hygiene and promoting responsible digital behavior in their communities. The launch of this club not only fosters a safer digital environment but also empowers young women to become the cyber guardians of tomorrow.
