The Students of Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics at Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, organized an interactive awareness program on 30th October 2025 as part of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2025, themed “Cyber Safe India,” the event aimed to empower students and faculty with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate today’s complex digital world securely.
The event began with the much-anticipated Inauguration of the Cyber Club, a student-driven forum designed to enhance hands-on learning in cyber investigations, ethical digital practices, and emerging cyber threats. The inauguration was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Baskaran, Retired Superintendent of Police, who shared valuable insights on the alarming rise in cybercrimes and the crucial role of young cyber learners in building a secure digital ecosystem.
In his address, he emphasized the importance of Cyber Vigilance, encouraging students to stay informed, develop critical cyber skills, and adopt proactive safety measures to contribute to a Cyber-resilient India.
The session brought together students, learners, and enthusiasts for an engaging two-hour awareness event packed with insightful discussions and live demonstrations. The program covered four major segments such as Cyber Threat Awareness, Digital Forensics Insights, Live Demo Sessions, and Cyber Law , offering participants a comprehensive understanding of how to identify, investigate, and prevent cybercrimes effectively.
The session was presided over by Mr. Arsh G, Campus Director (I/c), whose motivating words inspired students to take active ownership of the Cyber Club and engage in upcoming initiatives. He highlighted the relevance of cybersecurity in both academic learning and professional growth, reinforcing the university’s commitment to nurturing skilled cyber defenders.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. S. Abarna and Mrs. P. Surya, faculty members of the Department of Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, whose mentorship and support ensured smooth planning and execution of the program.
The event featured several key activities that enriched the learning experience for students. It began with the official unveiling of the Cyber Club logo - C-SENA (Cyber-Security Engineering for Nation’s Advancement), a proud and symbolic moment for the department, representing unity, vigilance, and a shared commitment to building a cyber-aware society.
Students also engaged in interactive discussions on real-world cyber incidents, data breaches, and preventive strategies, which provided them with practical insights into cyber defense techniques. Additionally, a pre- and post-assessment activity was conducted to measure participants’ awareness levels and reflect their growing interest in future cyber awareness initiatives.
The Cybersecurity Awareness Event not only marked the launch of the Cyber Club also set the foundation for a year filled with hands-on workshops, expert talks, competitions, and field-based learning opportunities. The energetic participation of students and the guidance of experienced professionals made the event a remarkable success.
Staying true to the message of the event - “Be Aware, Stay Secure” ,the department reaffirmed its mission to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to safeguard the digital future of the nation.
