Cyber Olympiad cum Cyber Awareness Session Conducted by Rashtriya Raksha University – Puducherry

On 24 February 2026, Rashtriya Raksha University successfully organized a Cyber Olympiad cum Cyber Awareness Session, reinforcing its commitment to digital literacy, cybersecurity education, and community engagement. The session was led and coordinated by Mrs. P. Surya, TCRO, Mr. Chandramouleswer K, Junior research cum Admin assistant, and students Mr. Sainath from PGDCSDF and Mr. Richard BCPS – 2nd Year. The collaborative efforts of faculty members and student volunteers reflected the university’s strong emphasis on experiential learning and social responsibility.

The program commenced with an introduction to RRU Puducherry, outlining its academic vision and specialized programs, including:

• PGDCSDF (Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security & Digital Forensics)
• BCPS (Bachelor’s in Criminology & Police Studies)

Students were provided valuable insights into emerging career opportunities in cybersecurity, digital forensics, criminology, and law enforcement support systems. The faculty and student volunteers shared their academic journeys and professional aspirations, motivating students to explore careers in cybersecurity, cyber law, and digital investigations. The focus of the event was covering:

• Common cyber threats
• Online financial fraud and scams
• Social media risks
• Safe digital practices
• Importance of cyber hygiene

Real-world case examples were discussed to make the session practical, relatable, and impactful. Students gained a deeper understanding of responsible digital behavior and online safety. A comprehensive briefing was provided on the Objectives of the Cyber Olympiad, Examination format, Course modules, Assessment pattern, and Certification benefits. The students expressed keen interest in participating in the Cyber Olympiad to enhance their cybersecurity knowledge and skills. The session concluded with an engaging interaction where students enthusiastically raised questions related to:

• Career prospects in cybersecurity
• Exam preparation strategies
• Online safety measures
• Higher education opportunities

The students' curiosity and active participation made the session highly dynamic and meaningful. The program received excellent feedback from both the students and the school management. The initiative was successful, creating awareness of cyber threats, encouraging responsible digital practices, Inspiring students to consider careers in cybersecurity, and strengthening RRU’s outreach and community engagement efforts.
