On 25th March 2026, the Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry NSS Unit, with the enthusiastic participation of 50 student volunteers, successfully inaugurated the NSS Special Camp – Village Adoption Programme in the RRU auditorium. The inaugural session marked the beginning of a meaningful community outreach initiative aimed at fostering social responsibility, rural engagement, and experiential learning among the students.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Campus Director Mr. Arsh, Assistant Campus Director Mr. Nethaji Subash, NSS Programme Officer Mr. B. Diwakar, and NSS Coordinator Ms. Sandra Sunil, whose encouragement and support added significance to the occasion. They appreciated the student volunteers' efforts and emphasized the importance of extending knowledge, service, and support to rural communities through such initiatives.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. Satish Kumar, NSS State Coordinator, and Dr. Saravanan, NSS College Coordinator. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Satish Kumar elaborated in detail on the objectives, protocols, and procedures of the Village Adoption Programme. He explained the importance of discipline, teamwork, and community engagement during the camp and encouraged the volunteers to actively participate in every activity. He highlighted that the programme would benefit not only the adopted village but also help students develop leadership qualities, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of rural life and social issues.
Dr. Saravanan also addressed the students, stressing the role of NSS in building socially responsible citizens. He motivated the volunteers to make the best use of the opportunity by learning from the community, understanding their needs, and contributing positively through dedicated service. The session inspired the students to participate wholeheartedly and work together to successfully implement the Village Adoption Programme.
The inaugural programme concluded on an enthusiastic note, with the volunteers expressing their eagerness to participate in upcoming camp activities and contribute meaningfully to the welfare and development of the adopted village.
