Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, organised a tree plantation activity on 23 September 2026 at the Art and Craft Village, Puducherry, under the “One Earth, One Nation, One Future” campaign. The initiative aimed to nurture environmentally conscious and responsible young citizens and encourage active participation in conservation and sustainable development.

The activity was graced by Mr. Arsh G, Director, Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, and Dr. Bupesh Gupta, Environmentalist. Petty Officer Ram Narayan and Petty Officer Abhay Singh were also present. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Nidhya Poongavanam, Sports Training Officer, Mr. Diwakar B, Teaching Cum Research officer, and Mr. Ram Kumar, Junior Engineer. Twelve NCC cadets from the RRU Puducherry Campus participated in the activity. The initiative highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship, protection of natural resources, and community participation in building a greener future. It also reflected the role of NCC in encouraging discipline, teamwork, and civic responsibility among young people.

The primary objective of this “One Earth, One Nation, One Future” campaign is to cultivate a generation of environmentally conscious, responsible, and proactive young citizens who actively contribute to sustainable development through conservation efforts, collaborative action, and community leadership. By promoting environmental responsibility and stewardship, the initiative seeks to empower youth with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to protect natural resources, adopt sustainable practices, and advocate for ecological preservation in their local and national communities.

The “One Earth, One Nation, One Future” campaign aims to nurture environmentally conscious, responsible youth who actively contribute to sustainable development through conservation, teamwork, and community leadership. NCC cadets have been instrumental in executing this vision, diligently participating in tree plantation drives, waste segregation, recycling initiatives, and cleanliness campaigns across campuses and neighborhoods. Under the guidance of dedicated coordinators and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), cadets receive structured training, motivation, and logistical support to ensure effective implementation of activities. Coordinators facilitate awareness sessions, monitor progress, and encourage cadets to adopt sustainable practices such as planting trees on birthdays and promoting plastic-free environments.

The activity formed part of the broader “One Earth, One Nation, One Future” campaign, which promotes sustainable practices and environmental awareness. Through such initiatives, NCC cadets are encouraged to contribute to conservation efforts and adopt responsible practices on their campuses and in their communities.
