Taking Criminology Global: RRU Students Shine at World Conference on Criminology 2025

Students and faculty members of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) actively participated and presented their research at the World Conference on Criminology (WCC) 2025, held from 19 to 22 June 2025 at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), Sonipat, Delhi NCR. The prestigious international conference was organized by the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) in collaboration with the International Society for Criminology (ISC–SIC), Paris, France, bringing together academicians, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from across the globe.



Under the central theme “Exploring the Dynamics of Crime: Contemporary Challenges and Innovations in Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice,” the conference provided a platform for in-depth academic exchange on global crime trends and criminal justice practices. 

Adding to the university’s academic presence, Mr. Nethaji Subash, Assistant Professor (Criminology), and Mr. Midhun Chakravarthi, Research Officer, RRU Puducherry Campus, presented their research paper titled “Evolving Crime of Digital Arrest in India: An Empirical Study on the Criminological Perspective and Legal Lacunas.” Their presentation addressed emerging cyber-enabled coercive practices, legal gaps, and criminological challenges associated with digital arrest frauds in India, drawing significant attention from the academic audience.




From Rashtriya Raksha University, two Bachelor’s level students successfully presented research papers, marking a noteworthy achievement at an international forum.



In addition, three students presented research posters, showcasing their analytical and research capabilities. 


Alongside them, a Master’s student in Criminology also presented a research paper, contributing advanced scholarly insights to the conference discussions.

The participation of undergraduate students at a world-level criminology conference highlighted their academic preparedness and research orientation at an early stage of their academic journey. The paper and poster presentations reflected strong theoretical grounding, empirical relevance, and alignment with contemporary criminological challenges.

The student presentations reflected strong academic rigor, critical analysis, and relevance to real-world criminal justice challenges. Participation in such a globally recognized conference enhanced students’ exposure to international research standards, interdisciplinary perspectives, and networking opportunities with experts in the field of criminology and criminal justice.

The presence and active contribution of RRU students at the World Conference on Criminology 2025 highlighted the university’s emphasis on research-driven learning and academic excellence.
