Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Puducherry Campus, in collaboration with Auroville Foundation: RASTA-RRU Auroville Security Training Academy, successfully concluded its 3-Month Virtual Course in Cyber Psychology, conducted from 22 November 2025 to 06 February 2026. The online programme attracted 34 learners from across the globe, including army professionals, professors, and students, highlighting the international relevance of cyber psychology in today’s digital landscape.
The
course commenced with Session 1 by Dr. Jasbir Kaur Thadhani, who
currently serves as the University Dean In-Charge and Assistant Professor
(Research) at Rashtriya Raksha University. Her session on “Introduction
to Cyber Psychology” laid a strong conceptual foundation, introducing
participants to the psychological dimensions of cyberspace, digital behaviour,
and emerging cyber challenges.
Session 2 was conducted by Mr. Sayan Bandyopadhyay, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Rashtriya Raksha University, who delivered an engaging lecture on “Human–Computer Interaction, Ideal Self & Digital Self.” He also led Session 8 on “Cyber Safety & Digital Parenting,” addressing psychological risks and protective strategies for individuals and families in the digital era.
Session
3, led by Mr. Dixon Joseph, Forensic Psychologist, on “Social Media Psychology and Online Relationship Intimacy,” offered insights into emotional bonding,
attachment, and vulnerability in virtual interactions.
In
Session 4, Dr. Meenal Makhija, Clinical and Forensic
Psychologist, presented “Decoding the Digital Dialogue: Analysing Email
Content for Insight and Trends,” focusing on behavioural analysis and
psychological indicators embedded in digital communication.
Sessions
5 and 6 were
handled by Mr. Navpreet Singh Sahni, Forensic Financial Investigator and
Chartered Accountant, who delivered in-depth sessions on “Money Laundering
in Cyberspace,” explaining financial cybercrimes, investigative mechanisms,
and digital money trails.
The technological and forensic aspects of cyber psychology were further explored in Sessions 7 and 11 by Mr. Kashyap Joshi, Cybersecurity Expert. His sessions, “Digital Forensics for Cyber-Physical Systems: A Psychologist’s Toolkit for Threat Detection and System Optimization” and “The Human Element in Digital Evidence: A Cyber-Psychological Analysis,” highlighted the crucial role of human behaviour in cybersecurity and digital forensics.
Session
9 was conducted by
Dr. Thipparapu Rajesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology,
Mizoram University, on “Social Media and Political Polarisation,”
examining the psychological impact of digital platforms on public opinion,
ideology, and societal division.
The
course concluded with Sessions 10 and 12 by Ms. Shonal, a dynamic
Anti-Cybercrime Strategist and Cyberpsychology Practitioner, who
addressed “Emerging Cyber Crime Threats and Tactics” and “Digital
Traps in Your Pocket: Behavioural Insights into Mobile Malware and Phishing
Tactics.” Her sessions provided critical insights into evolving cyber
threats and behavioural manipulation techniques used by cybercriminals.
The
programme was highly interactive, incorporating case studies, live
discussions, and doubt-clearing sessions, enabling participants to bridge
theory with real-world cyber scenarios. Upon successful completion, participants
were awarded certificates by Rashtriya Raksha University, marking the
culmination of an intensive and impactful learning experience.
