A Friendly Sports Meet was organized jointly by Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, and the Pondicherry Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (PIHMCT) on 03 & 05 April 2026 at the Campus Ground to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness, and healthy competition among students.
The event featured Volleyball and Cricket competitions, with enthusiastic participation from students of both institutions. The students were encouraged by Mr. Arsh, Campus Director of RRU and Ms. Ritamitra, Principal of PIHMCT. The Sports Meet was coordintaed by Ms. Nidhya P, Sports Training Officer, and Mr. Midhun C, Research Officer of RRU. The matches were conducted in a spirited and friendly atmosphere, encouraging mutual respect, cooperation, and camaraderie among the participants.
Objective of the Event
- To encourage healthy competition and mutual respect among students of both institutions.
- To enhance teamwork, leadership, and communication skills through team sports.
- To promote physical fitness and active participation in sports and games.
- To strengthen inter-institutional collaboration and foster lasting friendships.
- To provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting talent in a positive, disciplined, and encouraging environment.
Both teams displayed excellent discipline, determination, and sporting spirit throughout the competitions. PIHMCT delivered an exceptional performance and emerged as the Overall Champions, securing victory in both the Volleyball and Cricket events.
The Sports Meet concluded with the presentation of trophies to the winning team and appreciation for the dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship demonstrated by all the participants. The event successfully strengthened inter-institutional ties and provided students with an opportunity to showcase their sporting abilities while fostering friendship and collaboration.
