Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Puducherry Campus, participated in the President’s Police Colour Presentation Ceremony of Puducherry Police held on 09 August 2026 at the Police Parade Ground, Gorimedu, Puducherry. The national-level ceremonial event was graced by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation, Government of India, Shri Amit Shah, along with the Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister, senior officers of Puducherry Police, senior government officials, police personnel, invited dignitaries, faculty members, students and members of the public.
A total of 25 participants from RRU Puducherry Campus, comprising 18 students and 7 faculty/staff members, attended the ceremony, which contributed to experiential learning and professional development. The activity strengthened students’ awareness of policing, internal security, leadership and public-service responsibilities. The participation was particularly relevant to students pursuing Criminology and Police Science and Criminology, as it enabled them to connect their academic learning with the practical functioning of law-enforcement and internal-security institutions.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to witness a significant national-level police ceremony and gain practical exposure to police traditions, ceremonial practices, discipline, leadership, command structure and professional standards. It also aimed to enhance students’ understanding of policing, internal security, public order, police administration and the role of professional police organisations in maintaining national security.
The ceremony served as an enriching experiential learning opportunity, strengthening students’ awareness of policing, internal security, leadership and public-service responsibilities. It also supported RRU’s academic outreach objectives by fostering greater interaction with the professional security and law-enforcement ecosystem in Puducherry.
