The 1(P) Naval Unit NCC, Puducherry, organised a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Clean India, Green India” on 2 October 2026 at the NCC Unit, Lawspet, Puducherry, as part of the observance of Swachhata Diwas and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Six NCC cadets, NC Moniksanjai M, NC Prakash N, LC Gayathri S, Annamalai, Siva Harshini, and Nandhini, from Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Puducherry Campus, participated in the competition. The competition provided NCC cadets with an opportunity to express their ideas and creativity on issues related to cleanliness and environmental protection.
The competition witnessed the participation of NCC cadets from affiliated institutions, who showcased their creativity and artistic skills through meaningful posters highlighting the importance of cleanliness, environmental conservation, waste management and a plastic-free society. The participants used various drawing and colouring techniques to communicate social awareness messages and encourage responsible environmental practices. The activity provided an opportunity for cadets to develop their creative abilities, environmental awareness and sense of civic responsibility.
The main objective of the Poster Making Competition for Swachhata Diwas was to create awareness among NCC cadets about cleanliness, environmental protection and the importance of maintaining a healthy and sustainable society. The activity aimed to encourage creativity, social responsibility and active participation in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It also provided a platform for cadets to express their ideas through art and communicate messages related to waste management, plastic pollution, water conservation and tree plantation. The competition sought to develop environmental consciousness, teamwork and civic responsibility among students while motivating them to contribute towards building a cleaner, greener and healthier India.
The competition was conducted under the guidance of the NCC officers and coordinators. The posters were evaluated based on creativity, relevance to the theme and presentation. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners in recognition of their efforts and performance. The programme successfully conveyed the message of cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and active youth participation. The enthusiastic involvement of the RRU Puducherry Campus NCC cadets reflected their commitment to social awareness and their willingness to contribute to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
