RRU Puducherry Campus Joins Drug Abuse Awareness Rally

On 16th August 2025, students and faculty members of Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, actively participated in the Drug Abuse Awareness Rally organized by NSS Puducherry in collaboration with the LIONS Club, under the direction of the Hon’ble Education Minister. The rally aimed to sensitize the community, especially the youth, about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

The rally held from the Animal Husbandry Office near Thiruvalluvar Bus Stand to Rock Beach, Puducherry, took place between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM, with RRU students. A total of 38 students from RRU Puducherry Campus, guided by faculty in-charge Ms. Suriya (TCRO-IT) and Ms. Nidhya (STO), joined nearly 1000 participants from various schools and colleges in spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The event was inaugurated and flagged off by Thiru. Namasivayam, Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, highlighting the importance of youth involvement in building a drug-free society. Participants carried a 3600-feet-long Indian National Flag, a powerful symbol of unity, patriotism, and collective resistance against social evils. Marching alongside other institutions, RRU students held placards and raised slogans, creating a strong visual and social impact that captured public attention while reinforcing the spirit of national pride.

The active involvement of the youth in such initiatives highlights their determination to stand against drug abuse and build a healthier society. The participation of RRU Puducherry students not only showcased their social responsibility but also reflected the university’s commitment to nation-building and community welfare.
