Crime Scene Investigation Laboratory Inaugration and Expert Lecture on Forensic science and toxicology

Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus marked a significant milestone in strengthening practical forensic education with the Inauguration of the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Laboratory on 17th December, 2025 followed by an expert lecture on Scientific Methods in Forensic Science and Forensic Toxicology. The programme was graced by Mr. T. S. Alagesan, Officer on Special Duty / Director, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Puducherry, who inaugurated the laboratory and shared his extensive professional insights with students and faculty members.



The newly inaugurated Crime Scene Investigation Laboratory is a major step toward strengthening practical and experiential learning in the field of forensic science. The facility is designed to simulate real-life crime scene scenarios, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in evidence identification, documentation, collection, preservation, and analysis. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing students to meet the real-world challenges of criminal investigation.

During his address, Mr. T. S. Alagesan emphasized the critical role of scientific methods in modern investigations and highlighted the importance of accuracy, objectivity, and adherence to standard operating procedures while handling evidence. He also spoke about the increasing relevance of forensic science in the criminal justice system and the responsibility of forensic professionals in ensuring justice through scientific integrity.

                                                        

The expert lecture on Scientific Methods in Forensic Science and Forensic Toxicology provided valuable insights into the application of science in crime detection and legal processes.
