Faculty Activity Highlight : Dr. Abarna S, Assistant Professor invited as a Resource Person.

Dr. S. Abarna, Assistant Professor at Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, was invited as a Resource Person for the one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Puducherry Technological University, in collaboration with the AICTE Training & Learning Academy. The FDP was conducted on "Defending the Digital Frontier: Emerging Threats and Trends in Cybersecurity" from 8th to 13th September 2025.

On Day 4, 11th September 2025, during the forenoon session from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Dr. Abarna delivered an insightful lecture on the topic:

"Stay Safe Online: Awareness, Prevention, and Digital Forensics in the Age of Evolving Threats."

The primary objective of this session was to enhance the knowledge, awareness, and teaching competence of faculty members and research scholars by offering deep insights into the fast-evolving field of cybersecurity.

Dr. Abarna delivered an in-depth presentation covering emerging cyber threats, advanced attack techniques, digital forensics processes, and best practices for prevention and defense against cybercrimes. The session was rich in practical examples, real-world case studies, and hands-on demonstrations of digital forensics tools, which helped participants understand the nature of modern attack vectors and effective strategies to mitigate them.

A total of 60 faculty members and research scholars actively participated, engaging in interactive discussions and gaining valuable insights into how they can integrate cybersecurity concepts into their teaching, research projects, and institutional practices. The session strongly emphasized the growing responsibility of educators in preparing students to become vigilant and security-aware digital citizens, capable of defending against sophisticated cyber threats.

By the end of the session, participants were equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to strengthen their personal and institutional digital security frameworks, thereby contributing to a more secure and resilient academic environment in the digital age.
