Book Release Ceremony & Expert Session on Crime Scene Protocols at RRU Puducherry

Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, hosted a distinguished Book Release Ceremony on 28th November, 2025 to unveil the “Crime Scene Protocol Module: Forensic Science Internship Guide.” The event brought together students, faculty members, and invited dignitaries, creating an engaging academic atmosphere centered on forensic science, investigation procedures, and professional development.

The ceremony began with the Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, offering a culturally rooted start to the proceedings. This was followed by a warm welcome address that highlighted the university’s commitment to academic advancement and its emphasis on strengthening practical learning in forensic and investigative sciences. Invited guests were felicitated for their contributions to policing, research, and criminal justice education.



The centerpiece of the event was the unveiling of the Crime Scene Protocol Module, authored by Mr. Tamil Mani, Research Scholar at Manipal Academy of Higher Education. His publication represents a thoughtful and structured guide for students, forensic trainees, and law enforcement aspirants. Emphasizing systematic procedures, accuracy in evidence handling, ethical responsibility, and thorough documentation, the module aims to enhance both classroom learning and on-ground investigative competence.

The Chief Guest Address was delivered by Mr. Tamil Mani, who spoke on the growing significance of forensic science in modern policing and judicial processes. He highlighted how strong crime scene protocols shape the credibility of investigations and encouraged students to cultivate observation, discipline, scientific thinking, and professional integrity.

                                                                  

Mr. Rajaganapathy U, Sub Inspector of Police, Karaikal Town Station, addressed the gathering separately and shared valuable field insights. He emphasized the realities of crime scene handling, the importance of preserving evidence, and the crucial link between academic training and effective law enforcement practice.

                                                                  

Mr. N. Selvam, Superintendent of Police, South Sub-Division, also conveyed his appreciation for the initiative. In his message, he underscored the need for highly trained professionals in the field of forensic science and encouraged students to utilize such educational resources to prepare for real-world investigative challenges.

                                                   

                                                                 

Following the formal proceedings, participants attended an educational session titled “From Trace to Testimony: Mastering the 16 Steps of Crime Scene Protocol.” The session walked students through each critical stage of crime scene management from initial response and securing the area to documentation, evidence collection, chain of custody, laboratory analysis, and court presentationenhancing their understanding of the precision and integrity required in forensic work.

                                                      

                                                      

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude and a group photograph, marking the ceremony as an inspiring academic milestone. Overall, the Book Release Ceremony reflected RRU Puducherry Campus’s commitment to nurturing skilled, knowledgeable, and ethically responsible professionals in forensic science and criminal justice.
