New Year’s Eve Traffic Volunteering by RRU Students in Puducherry

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Puducherry Campus actively participated in New Year’s Eve Traffic Volunteering with the Puducherry Police Department as Friends of Police during the New Year celebrations held across Puducherry. A team of 25 student volunteers participated in crowd control and assisted the police in enforcing traffic rules and regulations at busy and high-footfall locations.

The initiative aimed to support law enforcement authorities in maintaining public order, ensuring smooth traffic flow, and enhancing public safety during the New Year’s Eve festivities. The student volunteers carried out their duties with discipline and commitment by guiding pedestrians and motorists, managing vehicular movement, and creating awareness among the public about responsible behaviour. 

This activity provided students with valuable hands-on exposure to community policing and public safety operations, while reflecting the university’s strong emphasis on civic responsibility, social service, and collaboration with the Puducherry Police Department.
