RRU Puducherry NCC Naval Wing Emerges Overall Champion at Inter Unit Competition

The NCC Naval Wing of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Puducherry Campus, secured the Overall Championship Trophy at the Inter Unit Competition (IUC) held from 16 May to 25 May 2026 at the NCC Group Headquarters, Lawspet, Puducherry. The competition witnessed the participation of seven NCC Naval Units, with around 250 cadets (180 SD/SW and 70 JD/JW) competing in various naval and military events. 

Representing RRU Puducherry Campus, 10 Naval Wing cadets and one CTO participated in the competition under the guidance of Ms. Nidhya P, STO-cum-CTO, RRU Naval Unit. The event was convened by Commander Abhay Singh, Commanding Officer of 1(P) Naval Unit, and was graced by Shri S. Selvaganabathy, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).

Objective/Aim of Activity:

To enhance the professional competence, discipline, leadership, teamwork, and maritime skills of NCC Naval Wing cadets through healthy inter-unit competition. The competition aims to improve seamanship, boat pulling, sailing, rigging, firing, and other naval training skills while fostering sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the spirit of "Unity and Discipline" among participating Naval Units.

Overall Performance – NCC Naval Wing Inter Unit Competition (IUC)

A total of 07 NCC Naval Units participated in the Inter Unit Competition (IUC). Our unit delivered an outstanding performance, securing the Overall Championship Trophy and emerging as the Overall Winners (1st Position Overall). The team secured 1st Position in six of nine events, demonstrating exceptional discipline, teamwork, and professional competence. The achievements are as follows:

• 1st Position – Rigging and Unrigging
• 1st Position – Semaphore
• 1st Position – Service Subject
• 1st Position – Drill
• 1st Position – Boat Pulling
• 1st Position – Firing

Demonstrating exceptional discipline, teamwork, and professional competence, the RRU Naval Wing secured first position in six events—Rigging and Unrigging, Semaphore, Service Subject, Drill, Boat Pulling, and Firing. The cadets also delivered commendable performances in the remaining events, and their consistent excellence throughout the competition led them to emerge as the Overall Winners (1st Position Overall). The remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, rigorous training, and unwavering commitment of the NCC Naval Wing cadets, upholding the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline.”
