As part of its commitment to industry-oriented learning, Rashtriya Raksha University, Puducherry Campus, organized an expert session on Risk Management Methodologies, Tools, and Techniques on 26 May 2026. The session was conducted by Ms. Anchall Saxena, Corporate Security Consultant at Target, for students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Security and Corporate Intelligence Management.
The session provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of how organizations identify, assess, and manage risks in complex operational environments. Beginning with the fundamentals of risk assessment, the speaker explained the importance of risk management in supporting informed decision-making and strengthening organizational resilience. Students were introduced to the various stages of the risk assessment process, including risk identification, analysis, evaluation, and mitigation.
A major focus of the session was the exploration of qualitative, quantitative, and hybrid risk assessment methodologies. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, participants learned how different approaches are applied based on organizational needs and available data. The session also covered key concepts such as likelihood and impact analysis, risk scoring techniques, and the importance of collecting accurate information from multiple sources to support effective risk evaluation.
In addition, students gained exposure to professional risk management tools, dashboards, spreadsheets, and GRC/ERM platforms commonly used in corporate environments. The session enhanced their analytical thinking and decision-making abilities while providing valuable insights into contemporary risk management practices. By connecting academic concepts with real-world applications, the programme equipped participants with practical knowledge essential for careers in security, risk assessment, and corporate intelligence management.
